DMAAHU will improve its members ability to meet the health, financial and retirement security needs of all Iowans through education, advocacy and professional development.
1. A significant percentage of licensed agents, brokers, consultants and industry-related professionals will be DMAAHU members.
1.1 Revitalize DMAAHU.
1.2 Develop and distribute membership marketing and sales tools to all members and industry-related partners.
1.3 Train DMAAHU chapter leaders in membership marketing and sales.
1.4 Explore membership marketing opportunities within the health and ancillary products industry.
1.5 Develop and carry out independent agency and insurance company-based membership campaigns.
1.6 Additional/General tasks for this long-term goal:
A. Sponsor industry events of value and content that will attract non-members.
B. Identify carriers, general agencies, consulting/brokerage firms, sister associations and insurance-related entities to target for membership promotion and campaigns.
2. DMAAHU will exceed its member’s expectations.
2.1 Determine the member’s expectations.
A. Conduct mini- and annual membership surveys to hear what members want and need.
B. Conduct formal DMAAHU board surveys at least once a year to hear what Board members want and need.
2.2 Engage more members in association activity.
2.3 Enhance DMAAHU communications make them quicker, targeted and focused.
2.4 Demonstrate the value of membership in all things.
3. DMAAHU will be known as a leader in industry and public-policy forums.
3.1 Increase DMAAHU’s input in regulatory matters.
3.2 Increase DMAAHU’s support of state regulatory and legislative activities.
3.3 Promote and educate members to achieve a ‘contribution culture’ so that 30% of DMAAHU members participate in HUPAC.
3.4 Participate in existing (or build new) coalitions with outside organizations to promote our Vision.
